Counterproofs after this work exist.

German-born Justin K. Thannhauser (d. 1976), son of an important dealer in modern art, owned five galleries in four countries before retiring in Switzerland. In 1963, he donated a considerable portion of his collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art to the Guggenheim Foundation.
