commentary

Lucile Manguin was the daughter of Henri Manguin (1874–1949), a painter associated with the Fauve movement in France. After a successful career as a couturier (1928–1960), she became an art dealer, opening the Galerie de Paris and co-authoring a catalogue raisonné of her father's works.
